Daffy Wore It Better

This is my favorite old-lady-going-to-the-farmer's-market outfit. Also it's kind of representative of the still current minimalist fashion trend. Yes, I studied that minimalism, 33 garments per season, just 5 new pieces per season. I concluded that I am a very advanced minimalist since I barely have 33 pieces per 4 seasons. I'm totally trendy, even avant-garde.

For example I told you all about this blouse 2 years ago and it's still royalty in my closet. All the other blouses hate her and she still goes out more often than others.

I also told you all about this skirt last year and I don't even remember how many years ago I bought it.

Same with the necklace. Here it is having the best time with the royalty blouse 3 years ago.

Sunglasses... something has to be new.

And, oh yes, the bag is kind of new, but it's gold and it was on sale, I swear.
...
The sandals? That's another story.

You see I wanted platform sandals since I was a kid, literally. Ever since I saw this scene, I admired Daffy's giant feet on platforms. Whenever I see platforms I hear boom-chiki-boom ha ha. Recently I pinned them and pinned them. I had to find the ones that wouldn't hurt my barely functional right foot, which only goes above the height of 2 cm in special occasions. And then I finally saw them right under the 50% off sign. I took them, thank you very much!

Now I'm not sure if I lost the title of the queen of minimalism fashion since this is my second pair of sandals this year (the first) but it's totally fine because my childhood dream finally came true, I'm wearing the same shoes as Daffy Duck!

The Dance

You guessed, I'm not the girl for a traditional wedding, puffy white dress and all that jazz. This means that even after 14 years of the relationship and about a 1000 years of living together, the two of us are still strange exotic animals, sticking out in the crowd: "So, are you married yet?" (and I won't even start on the babies question).

But you know some people just make the white wedding cool. Look at Solange's wedding dance with her son. I wish I were this cool, I even tried practicing the steps, but as I was in a Serbian folk dance group for 8 years, my moves are less hip hop and more like this :D

It Happens...

It IS the dress I'd bought just before we left for Greece. Yes, yes, it was that day I went out to buy pajamas and a bathing suit and came home with the dress and shorts... Could've happen to anyone.

Leopards Love Boyfriend Jeans

Jeans - This my interpretation of the boyfriend jeans trend. It's been years since I bought jeans that are not skinny and dark wash or black, but then I got a trend itch and my boyfriend doesn't even wear jeans so I was on my own. So I go to a second hand store, choose the largest pair of jeans in the lightest wash and buy them. Turns out they are too big, so I take them in. Try them on again, turns out I look too much like Avrile Lavigne, what now... Add a leopard print silk blouse, turns out it's not so bad...

Blouse - I've recently decided I was old enough to properly wear a leopard print (I believe you need to be, long story). So once again I'm in a second hand store and I spot a good looking leopard print. As a real shopping predator I spot, I grab, I try on, determine it looks very good, determine the label says 100% silk (wow!), and price tag says less than 3 (wow, wow)! The ladies who work in SHSs here always have the need to tell me how good my choice is so this time is no exception. The lady is admiring my purchase - It's so pretty and the fabric, beautiful, like silk! - I point out that it actually is silk and her eyes almost pop out and I think she wants to add a figure to that price tag, sorry too late. My silk leopard has a date with my boyfriend jeans.

Bag - And then one day I decide I don't need to carry everything I own with me every day. See, I like big bags, and I always add one more thing just in case I might once need it, and then I walk around slanted to the right. Solution, logical, buy a smaller bag, woman! So I turn to the World Wide Web for inspiration once again. WWW gives me almost a perfect candidate, with less than perfect price tag (but whatever I'll invest in quality dur dur). In the store I realize that quality is out of the window in this case, the bag looks cheap and is made of plastic. Very frustrated I get in the first no name shop on the way, buy a small decent looking bag at the third of the price, and we live happily together for the next few years.

And that is in short my very trendy life.

Lament for Summer

So, we said some things to this Summer and there might have been some expletives involved. We called it crazy, bipolar, it made us feel cheated, let down, we told it to leave and never come back. But the Summer doesn't care, it's stays distinctly unsummery. At least it's consistent...

I even said THANK YOU at one point. There was no vacation time for me this year, no beach, and I still hear my inconsolable bathing suit sadly sobbing whenever I go near the closet. So, thank you, Summer, for being distinctly unsummery - it was easier to survive the city.

Though when August finally managed to smuggle some sun in, I finally manged to wear a few skirts. Ok, Summer, we'll survive this year, but the next... better not make us wait...

Shirt - 100% linen, bought in a second hand store a few years ago, cheap, intended for less glamorous purposes. Quickly became a summer favourite despite the long sleeves. And yes, it's always this wrinkled, and yes it still looks new, it's the most pleasant shirt to wear and also the favourite one

Skirt - also bought in a second hand store a few years ago, cheap, intended for less glamorous purposes. It was mostly stuck in the back of the closet, got out on a few less than glamorous opportunities (mostly of babysitting nature). Then it suddenly got rediscovered and rebirthed after it mysteriously ended up in the vacation suitcase two years ago. It conquered Greece and kept ruling summers since then.

Sandals - called The Saviors. Last year the hurt-foot-a-month-of-bed-rest-buy-normal-footwear debacle happened... Yeah, I don't want to talk about it. So, I finally had to buy better (also more expensive) shoes and that's how the era of BQS (Buy Quality Shoes) started and BATS (Buy All That's Shiny) era ended.

Bag - a product of the aforementioned, month long, bed rest, there was time to kill, let me tell you.

Sunglasses - I already bored you with that story.

Rings - from H&M, loved and adored! But you can find similar, well, everywhere.

;)

Worn (out)

I've told you about the hat and glasses.
I've told you about the sandals.
I've told you about the patterned trousers.
You've seen this top before.
I'll tell you about the bag and the pendant soon.

This is what how I look almost every day this summer... How about you?

Sunglasses and the City Hat

Fine! I admit it, when I bought the hat it wasn't officially summer but when I bought the sunglasses… well, that’s another story…

It was the end of May when my old sunglasses broke. It wasn't officially summer but it was 35°C in shade and the summer was obviously telling us this was how we’d play until September. So I was left without my favourite sunglasses and a few other pairs I had at home weren't gonna cut it. Blame it on the age, (im)maturity, whatever, but I needed the same (or extremely similar) pair. Since I bought them from a random street stall chances to find the same pair were close to none so the extremely similar pair it was. And thus the Big Sunglasses Search of 2014 began. It had to be this particular size, but they were all too small. It had to be this particular colour, but suddenly everyone made them pink. I needed them to have metal temples but suddenly everything was plastic. And not to forget I wanted all the UVA, UVB, ATM, USB, and the rest of the alphabet protections.

Long story short I found them, the extremely similar pair (of much better quality I must add). As I was standing in a checkout line, my heart still hurt for the old pair (my wallet also hurt a little for the price tag) and I was still wondering if the super glue was the better solution (it wasn't). It was a sunny Friday afternoon and I was happily testing the new extremely similar pair of better quality sunglasses on my way home, happy for the promising warm and sunny weekend. It started raining the next day… indefinitely…

So, tell me - this can't be only happening to me: if I buy a pair of sandals the great flood ensues; if I buy a pair of boots suddenly spring arrives right in the middle of December. If you say it does only happen to me you are all lying!

————————————————————————————————————————

Ok, I’m coming back after a few deep breaths with the story about the hat. This is a new type of hat discovered by moi, for toi (or it can stay just for moi and you do as you like it).

For example if this was a telemarketing commercial it would go something like this:

-Are you sick and tired of walking around town with that parasol of a wide rimmed hat on your head?
-Are you sick and tired of being late because you and your too wide rim of a wide rimmed hat couldn’t fit into a bus?
-Are you also sick and tired of lugging that same parasol/hat after the Sun goes down and you’d like to walk around on a pleasant evening for a little longer?

(I know there is more than one sane answer to this dilemma. Lady, buy a baseball hat or just stop lugging that monstrosity around etc. But for the sake of this tiny, barely sane thought experiment bare with me, don’t change the channel.)

We present to you The City Hat. It’s rim is significantly smaller than your standard boho wide rim so it won’t poke your fellow bus passengers in the eye. If you stop to look at a shop window at least three more ladies will be able to stand next to you and at least one more man will still be able to walk around you all. And when the Sun goes down you don't have to go home, just put your City Hat in your bag and you can continue your summer walk carefree and luggage free.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I love my wide rimmed monstrosities and I own both the winter and summer version, but last summer on vacation in Greece I got tired of dragging a giant hat with me so the idea of the city hat was born. I spent half the vacation searching for the smaller hat that I could easily stuff into my bag and guess what - it proved to be impossible to find even in beach town stores full of hats of all shapes but apparently not all sizes.

I found this one in April and it’s almost perfect and I don’t have to wear a baseball hat so it’s perfect enough. I can walk around on extremely sunny days of summer doing my business, get on a bus, stuff the hat in a bag and not get my hair all sweaty or occupy three seats with my hat. It is a little bulky but fits most of my tote bags and considering the elusiveness of a pretty and functional city hat and the hard life of us telemarketing visionaries discovering such things I’m satisfied... The End

Red+Brown

Not that I don't like you, not that you're not dear to me, but there was no way I was taking my coat off in the cold that was last week for a living soul. So here it is - inside version, in all it's glory with the parquet floor and extension cord. New red jeans, brown sweater and my favourite necklace, called Zoidberg .

I love you Red

I've been thinking of buying a pair of trousers in colour, red, dark red, purple, olive, I just needed a little colour. And I developed a certain aversion to shopping malls which would be the easiest solution, and I also developed a certain aversion to opening my wallet lately.

So, the other day the sister asked if I'd go with her to a neighbourhood  second hand store that used to be right on the corner of my street and that some evil forces decided to steal from me and open it two streets away, so instead of just popping in on my way from work, I have a 10-minute detour to it. And the two of us took a detour that day and so it happened that I found the said trousers in red and also this sweater to sweeten the deal. And together they were still a little bit above half the price I would probably pay for just the trousers in one of the said shopping malls, thankyouverymuch.

A Ring

So, about those rings again. This is the one worn most often last week. I didn't even manage to cheat and take a picture of it on my left hand because it wasn't easy doing it with the left hand. Left hand index finger shows off a fresh scar, a token of a hard worker me, so the tripod had to be drawn.

And the wrist warmers are the stars of the season. I make a pair for myself, my mum gets them, make a pair for myself, sister gets them, make them for myself and hide them. Now, everyone wants a pair and I gladly oblige, cousins, friends, boyfriends, just name it!

And for the ring, I got a wonderful compliment from the gentleman who sold it to me. Didn't look like a kind of  man who'd have an opinion on rings, more like a kind of man whose wife left him to keep the store for a while. Anyway, he kindly and in great detail pointed out the superiority of my choice over the rest of the lot, and I was left impressed.

One Ring to...

I'm a ring girl, I used to be earring girl, and I'm rarely a bangle/bracelet girl.

I stopped being an earring girl after I dyed my hair red and finally figured out how to best keep it in it's natural unruly state. I realized that all that happening on my head was enough and because of that all the big and little hoops and all the other intricate heavy weights went to rest. As far as earrings go I'm mostly a minimalist now. I have one piercing on the left ear and two on the right and I like combining tiny studs in all sizes and shapes. Just a little shine through the hair that's it.

I wear a thin silver bangle with a flower on the right arm for the last 11 year. I'll show it to you one day. It was the first birthday present from my boyfriend and it leaves my arm only if it's absolutely necessary (which is now because one of the petals on the flower broke of and it's being fixed).

As for the rings that's where the minimalism stops. I remember my first obsession with rings when i was about 12 or 13. My best friend at school had beautiful hands. When puberty struck I felt her hands were moving like a ballerina's hands, they were so narrow and elegant. I started school earlier and was a year younger than everyone and my puberty was nowhere in sight. My hands were still baby hands and my ring collection consisted of the annual fair finds and Kinder surprise surprises, plastic, many flowers and rainbow colours. And my friend always wore two silver rings that her grandpa brought her when he travelled to Austria.

And then one day my aunt gave me a tiny white gold band and my mum gave me one of her silver ones. And then my hands started being all ballerina like and I started buying rings for my self. No gold or silver, but always big and there were many of them, I had a whole year to make up. My friend and I coordinated our collections and daily wears and before PE classes we'd took off all our rings and put them on the wrist watch band and leave them in the changing room.

That's how I lost my aunt's ring. Someone just took my watch with all the rings on it. I'm still sad for that one today, my aunt is gone.
***
Up there on the picture is the majority of my grown up ring collection. I'm a ring girl. Sometimes I just wear one, one of the big ones or one of the small ones. And sometimes I want them all. Only one is silver, no gold, and two are made of wood. Others were cheap and made of whatever, but I had them for a while, I chose them carefully and I like them.

And all this intro is because I plan to occasionally show you the ring situation on my hands, staring next week.

I just wish someone had told me not to put away all the summer shoes... Anyway, thanks October for being so nice and above average!

A Guide to the Flea Market

Going to the flea market gets me in the same type of excitement as going to the Book Fair. Except I can't go with a list. No, definitely no lists for the flea market, won't work. You have to let yourself get carried by the wave, you have to sniff and search, you must have the eye that sees under all the dust and among all that rust. You have to watch the people carefully, from the youngest to the oldest. Some will show you every single thing they sell, with some you can try and bargain, some other will try and cheat, from some you'll want to just run away, some will tell you stories, perhaps of a broken water heater and another flea market in a small town nearby.

And also, you'll have to get up early, earlier than on the Book Fair day. But if it's sunny outside the early walk is well worth it. You'll experience the magic hour, long shadows and golden sun and you'll definitely need the sunglasses. You might be tempted to take a few pictures and then you'll have to explain to your friend why you're late. She'll forgive you of course and take you to her place when you get tired of all the shopping. She'll make some coffee you'll empty all the bags on the floor and scream: 'I can't believe you've got that for just 1E!!!'

;)

A Postcard

I know, I know, you've had it with me and all the Greece talk but allow me just this one (two) post(s) because I've been good otherwise. I'm already working on the list of books to buy on the Belgrade Book Fair in October and I've dug out a few sweaters from the wintery depths of my closet and I've almost completely stopped wearing sandals (but I'm not putting them away yet, so back off). I need just a bit more time to admit it's fall...

Creature of water

I must have been a duck in some of my previous lives because although I'm a lousy swimmer put me in the water (shallow) and my head goes in and my tail goes up immediately, a duck I tell you. As long as I have the mask and the snorkel on you'll watch my flowery bikini bottom on the surface of the sea for hours. And if I also have an underwater digital camera maybe you won't see me for the whole day but you'll have to watch about 900 photos of fish, waves, us under water, then one of an octopus hiding under a rock, and a lot of shells and sand, and a lot of other things, but under water.

On Hair and Make Up
Yes, seriously, on my vacation. What?! Well, my hair was fluffy and curly, but good fluffy, seaside fluffy. I gave up on shampoo for 10 days and only used masks when I washed my hair, the ones that were in orange and yellow packaging and with the sun on them, sounds like weird criteria for choosing any product but it worked and my hair was happy (and fluffy). And the make up... it happened just one day when my nose was particularly red because of the snorkeling mask and the sun, I had to comfort myself with a bit of eyeliner and a cat eye that evening. That's all that happened, the rest of the beauty routine was led by the philosophy titled I smell like coconut/wear SPF 40/nail polish, nail polish and another nail polish.

The Art of Dressing and Changing Often

When on summer vacation my clothes suddenly gets a few inches shorter, all of it, dresses, skirts, shorts, tops, everything. The length I don't wear in the city. I also need a big hat, sunglasses and a lot of ice cream. Two bikinis: one floral, one black, never worn as a set, always the black top and floral bottoms or black bottoms and floral top. And finally sandals and flip flops on rotation (also a new pair of handmade Greek leather sandals bought that deserve their own story, pic.3).

And it's still not the end, will be continued...

;)

September, Sea and MC Hammer

You know that time just at the end of August when your mum gets you a new pair of pants for school? It's probably the end of the 80s, beginning of the 90s and Hammer pants are still cool, even with the mums who want their children to be fashionable. But mum will still let you wear your favourite summer sandals for the first few days, but only during the day before it gets chilly in the evening. You can also wear the white T-shirt, it will do for PE class, too. And every little lady needs some bling, so you borrow mum's gold necklace with the diamonds (of course it's real) and that big ring you got from Kinder Surprise is just perfect. Et Voila! You are ready for the first day of school!
Naturally, you would wear a school bag or backpack with all the books and stuff, but as I was actually dressed like this during my summer vacation in Greece, I only had this tote with a flock of birds and stuff. Yes, that's what happened with this outfit, isn't it a rational description. And isn't it just the perfect outfit for either the first of school or the one cloudy rainy day that someone smuggled on your summer vacation? Say it is...

Moody Summer

Well, what else could one possibly need for an averagely perfect summer. A Frankenstein dress, a bit of gold, blush flats, a bag made of softest leather, magic lens sunglasses and a scoop of dotty ice cream, a puddle of water and a patch of bright sky (friends or loves and probably air conditioning). And not to forget the wanderlust!

My Head Is In My Bag

A few basic things that one should naturally assume about most of lady's bags are that: 1 they defy all the laws of physics, 2 they're much bigger on the inside, 3 things inside often go missing without a clue, but 4 most of the things that an average human being or two might need are probably there. That is unless the owner of the bag needs one those things, in that case only no. 3 is applicable. And although this is pretty much a common knowledge it might be written into some kind of laws of *physics or thermodynamics, just to make it official.

I remember a moment when I desperately stuck my head inside my bag one day and said -I'm gonna get in this bag and go to *expletive*, while trying to retrieve keys or something similar from it. Naturally, this sounds much better, angrier and dirtier in Serbian, but you get the point. And despite the fact that I always hid my bag, back in University, from a friend that adored roaming around people's bags, the internet in-my-bag craze got me crazy too. So I thought why not and while we're here let's do one more useful thing, let's see how much weight do we carry.

- First, the sunglasses not just to be pretty but because it's 2000 degrees and both Celsius, Fahrenheit and everyone else are scorched (about 50 g).

- Tiny make up bag and tiny make up that I rarely need and use but I always have and also if I didn't have I would often need (laws of physics as I said). Labello is always inside, in one of these darker shades. My favourite is passion fruit, but I currently use pomegranate because last passion fruit Labello I had was eaten by the bag and I can't find it in stores any more. And I love the dark ones because they are light but leave the lips stained and it's pretty and it's not wearing make up when it's 2000 degrees outside. Inside this tiny bag I also stick a pen, a hair clip and another lip balm that I almost never use but it's always there (physics!) (about 50 g).

- Mirror, that's this princess thing between pen and lip balms, can't fit inside the make up bag but the princess picture is 3D, she closes her eyes. Ridiculous, but that's the reason why I haven't replaced it for 5 years. The mirror is useful for when I get something in my eye or for spying purposes (about 20g).

- This is one book that I get to carry around and I can read on the bus since it has about 10 pages and a monster at the end. It's the most popular with my little gang of students so I often have it in the bag and it makes me happy  (about 20g).

- A bouncy ball (!?) I know, I know... but see above (about 30g).

- And this pretty sunny wood hides the thoughts of a ridiculous mind, all the crazy ideas, so far unseen calculations of approximate weight of a girl's bag and grocery shopping lists... it's mu notebook
(about 10g, not including the weight of the ridiculous mind).

- My wallet and a disclaimer: no zebras were harmed in the making of it, maybe just a sofa... (average weight in Serbian, or any other, currency  close to 0, in grams about 100).

- The blue case is for my phone which I forgot to put inside for the picture but you must assume it's inside since it's a phone case, OK? And, just to mention another weird fact, this case makes people want to hold it, stroke it and repeatedly squeeze it, I suppose it's because it's the silicon rubber...
(weight with the phone inside about 140 g).

- The little metal box - You know when someone ask for a tissue and you dig around your bag and victoriously pull out what you think is a bag of tissue but is in fact a completely different feminine product. Well, this box is a saver from the said embarrassment, which use to repeatedly happen to the owner of this bag, but no more confusion (about 20g).

My camera is orange and always, I mean always in it's purple case in my bag. Since I got the new phone it has been a bit neglected, I admit, but it's still always, and I mean always in my bag (but not in the picture since the picture is taken with it) (about 130g).

- The keys to my warm and loving home (it's really warm because there's no AC) and my favourite key chain with little Stitches. And yes, don't go and try persuading me those are not Stitches, people already tried and it didn't end well, for them...  (about 20g).

- And the last and here actually the least - public transport card... (weight about 0, both literal and simbolic).

So, there's about 600 grams of weight in here, not to bad, you'd think. But add a bottle of water occasionally, and then he asks if he can put just his phone, keys and a wallet in your bag, then take a pair of flats to change from the heels or those new sandals that are still not broken in, add some snacks maybe... should I continue? I also always have gums, if you need them, but only Orbit blueberry, no mints and eucalyptus, too strong for me, just the kid's kind, take it or leave it. And you know what, the weight, the stuff and everything, I still wouldn't change a thing...

* Surely, when it comes to physics don't listen to me, physics and I not a great match, but I needed the laws or something and I know these are really serious, so there you have it.

;)

I Wish...

... you didn't forget me while I'm hiding under a blanket on my couch . And I wish I could wear this outfit soon, very soon...

The white shirt – I've read about GAP white shirts several times. How they're all great, amazing and all the other adjectives in superlatives. Then one day by chance I met and fell in love with one, in a second hand store, for under 4 euro. And it's all true what they say, the cut is great the material is sturdy but light and it hugs all my 'curves' very well.

Trousers – You've already seen them here when I bought them at the flea market for half a euro last winter. They've had to wait for the more appropriate weather to join the other crazy printed pants I currently own*. Although now the weather is cruel to them again.

The bag was a New Year gift and it (I) could hardly wait for the sun to start shining.

Sunnies – These are vintage all the way and I should know since my mother bought them in the early 90s which means I've been trying to get my hands on them for a long time. My sister and I call them the chameleon sunnies since we repainted this little strip of pink twice already when originally it was white with pink flowers. First we painted it deep purple but after about two years we decided we needed more contrast in our life so we made it pink. And what happens next, we'll see...

The Book – (The Salmon of Doubt, Douglas Adams) Although technically it's not a novel, at least not a complete one, this is probably my favourite book ever. It's made of Adams' articles, stories and interviews collected after his untimely death and also the beginning of the latest Dirk Gently novel he never got to finish. I will stay forever enchanted with the story of diving** at the Great Coral Reef with giant manta rays that left my head in the air (ocean) for days and days to follow. And the beginning of the novel The Salmon of Doubt is also included in the book and once you read it you'll suffer for the rest. Unfortunately for this world, planet and the rest of the universe we'll never know what happened next...

Nail polish, a crazy colour joined the collection.

The ring, one of those I never want to take off but I have to before bad to avoid serious injuries for everyone involved.

Shoes take a pick!

* I believe that anyone who's seen me in the last couple of months believes I do not own any solid colour trousers anymore.
** ...said the woman of 29 who still has to hold her nose to prevent water from getting in and starts drowning after a swimming for 5 minutes and really, badly wants to go diving with manta rays at the Great Coral Reef.

Shoes Excuse

This is my walking gear for this month and this picture got me thinking how all of these shoes were bought under some kind of excuse. You know, after I decided no more impulsive purchases, no sales, only following THE list, what I need and if it's good quality and comfortable, if I need it, and only if I carefully thought about it first and have enough money. Completely reasonable, right? Of course. But sometimes it's just... how can I be reasonable when it comes to shoes (::eye twitching, arm shaking::).

For example, this first pair, the blue ones, I bought them right in the middle of the winter when there was no chance of wearing them for at least three more months. But why, you ask? Well, see this picture, it'd been in my computer for a couple of years before finding them filed under perfection, see what I mean, get it? How could I pass? I started wearing them as soon I saw the first swallow unpacking her things in spring and didn't stop until it flew away again. And these shoes are delicate, I have to vacuum the dust off them and avoid any kind of uncharted terrain. 2 years I had them are visible on their face but still, just look at them!

The second pair I've had for just 2 weeks. I had these ballet flats that left this world last year. After several beautiful years we had together, after last summer vacation there was simply no saving them. And how can a woman exist without ballet flats, I ask you? I couldn't gather the strength to look for the replacement, the wound was still fresh... And one they browsing the man section at Office Shoes, not for myself obviously, I decided to cross the border to lady's section as I saw these little things. They were on sale, to be honest, but I figured they could be good friends for the next few years. They feel like wearing socks except that they have this elastic band in the back that's a bit too strong so after a while it feels like my foot is about to fold in half, but I suppose it will loosen up eventually... hopefully... well, one of us will crack anyway...

As for the third pair, I already told you about them around the time they were bought so I'll just qoute, it happened like this:
''Friday was not nice to me although I did get this pretty bracelet, a gift from a very special little girl. It continued with an impulsive purchase of the shoes although I really needed them (when I say really I mean really really, not justifying really). However it was hard to say that to bf as he knew how Friday was not nice at all to me, imagine how that sounded- Hi, I had a **** day and I bought shoes, HA. Does anyone else do that?'' Enough said.

Well, the fourth ones were actually planned and the situation got out of control just a little bit... I was on my way to buy the sandals, blue sandals, with a big flower. I saw them before, actually needed them, prepared the money and while in the store trying them on, I suddenly saw this silver pair, just for a moment my I caught a glimpse of the silver on the shelf. And then I remembered my sister probably needed a pair of sandals, too. Yes, you got it, I bought both pairs, kept the silver ones and the sister got the blue ones... she did, really.

So, does this happen to anyone else? Do you even do excuses? What's the best excuse for impulsively buying shoes? Wait, no, no, please, don't tell me...

Different

Today is for a bit different outfit post, and if I may say I never looked thinner than in this picture:) So, here's the equation and below are all the elements.

Blouse - This is an Orsay blouse, found on a half-a-Euro pile on the local flea market by my sister. It was brand new, and of the most beautiful soft cotton. It quickly got a life cycle of wearing-washing-wearing. Then after people started having collective deja vues when they saw me and I discovered a square millimeter of pilling on it, I realized it was time to give it a break, so now I wear it rationally...

Necklace - I love jewelry made of mother-of-pearl. This necklace was Tamara's and she bought it for the most peculiar reason -  it reminded her of abs and she needed fitness inspiration. My eyes went all Manga when I saw it on her and she said there were more in the store and that she would buy me one the next day. But after a few grapefruit beers and my eyes still shiny with admiration she caved and took it off saying it was probably meant for me because she didn't really like it that much, it was just the abs thing. But she also threatened me that in a month I must show off my abs if I meant to keep it. Well, in a month I gave her my polka dot earrings because they were meant for her in the first place and I never wore them, not because I didn't have any abs to show off.

Trousers - Tamara and I again in a story together and the story set in the Chinese shopping centre in Belgrade. What else would the two of us notice on the whole floor but a store with the these trousers in at least a dozen different prints. Soft and light to the touch and with a price worthy of fainting, just under 4 Euro. We did our best not to faint and Tamara bought a floral pair and I bought these in a PJ worthy print. And a week later I was forced to go back for more, for apparently these appeal to all generations and types of women, from a pregnant friend, to most of other friends, to Tamara's aunt and grandma, and also my sister. And again I took a pair for my self (I can only say that it's definitely Hammer Time again, don't ask), and T is coming back for a polka dot pair.

The purse is a very special piece that used to be my boyfriend's mother. His dad bought it as a surprise gift  for her when he went to Novi Sad and I suppose it was a means of winning her heart a little bit more. And I'm honored and humbled that it's mine now.

The book (Dirk Gently's  Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams) - Just read it for the second time and while the first time was a complete blur to me even besides my utmost respect for the holly words DON'T PANIC! and a belief that everyone should have a towel with them at any time*. Only after watching 4 seasons of Doctor Who did I realize the genius of this book, the potential of it being a perfect episode of DW and a wonderful whovian twist in the end.

The ring - Greece, summer 2012.

Sunglasses -  Same day, same Tamara, same Chinese shopping centre as before. I looked for a pair like this for a while and I finally found it that they and they were too cheap for my own good or for anybody else's good, for that matter, but to pretty to pass.

Nail polish - Again the same setting as before. This nail polish has practically industrial strength. Not only does it stand the test of time but also the test of dish washing, I tell it barely chips. Although it has a tendency to stain the nails so you need the base coat, but as for me, give me more colours, thank you!

Shoes - I could go without them but if you want to know - these.

;)

* If you think I'm crazy for saying this, know that I'm not the only one and that you can join in the crazy, just read The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, by Douglas Adams ;)
