This Summer...

I apologise to all the friends whose birthdays I forgot or missed during June and July. I almost even forgot my own sister's birthday. Forgive me, I'll make it up, but this summer jumbled me up with good and bad (mostly good) and I held on tight like it was a real roller coaster.

1) We started off by finally buying a decent, big suitcase. You can't be a serious traveller without a real suitcase, right? It became a symbol of this summer, we overpacked it and underpacked it, and presently it's staring at me from the corner of the room asking to be taken out again.

2) Then we bought tickets for the Robbie Williams concert except it felt like this AAAAA ROBBIIIIIE AAAAA WE ARE GOING TO THE CONCERT!!!!

3) Then little Kosta was born, my boyfriend's nephew, and now we are aunt and uncle and we are goood! We can sing and bounce and shshshsh and laugh and goo and ga and gau, we are pro and we don't even have to change the diapers, WIN!

4) And the day after Kosta was born we celebrated in style at the Robbie Williams concert. I thought my nice boyfriend had the umbrella and he thought I did. It started raining with the first beats of Let Me Entertain You and ended as soon as the show ended. We walked home, wet, happy and hungry. Over the bridge and through the sleepy Belgrade and we were COMPLETELY ENTERTAINED.

5) A few days later, after we finally met Kosta and presented our gifts like Cinderella fairy Godmothers, we set off to Greece for our official 10 days of summer holiday. A 12-hour bus ride seemed easy as we got the 4 front seats on the upper deck with the big window in front of us. Just as we got comfortable, about 2 hours into the trip, the bus broke and was replaced by a tiny matchstick box. Just my luck.

But I had the next 10 days to recover from the shock. On the beach, watching sunsets, on the balcony, watching the pool. Eating a lot of chocolate cake and peach compote for breakfast. Running from the beach to devour tones of watermelon in the afternoon. And after that I comforted myself a bit more in the evening with some beer and Pringles or wine and chocolate.

6) Then we got back to Belgrade, but Belgrade seemed angry that we had fun somewhere else and tried to fry us at 40 degrees Celsius so we had to run away.

We went to a tiny town and a mineral spa Vrnjacka banja and we learned what it means to live in a town that is one big park; what it means to wake up and look out of the window and to see only green, to wake up without the sound and smell of city buses and traffic; what's the optimum time spent sitting in the garden/balcony/backyard before and after every meal, before and after swimming, and before bed at night and after you wake up in the morning. We also learned that we like having at least 2 different cakes in the fridge at all times and that we all like Cuba Libre. And the most important thing we learned is to take all these habits back home!

And in the end there is still a nice chunk of summer left and this is not all. My new sewing machine is coming and also some plane tickets, so the excitement is still rising and I intend to stretch out this feeling at least until the winter.

The Dance

You guessed, I'm not the girl for a traditional wedding, puffy white dress and all that jazz. This means that even after 14 years of the relationship and about a 1000 years of living together, the two of us are still strange exotic animals, sticking out in the crowd: "So, are you married yet?" (and I won't even start on the babies question).

But you know some people just make the white wedding cool. Look at Solange's wedding dance with her son. I wish I were this cool, I even tried practicing the steps, but as I was in a Serbian folk dance group for 8 years, my moves are less hip hop and more like this :D

Rings and Things

What have I been up to lately... hm:

1. Small things - you know how when a season drags out and you just want it to be over you go into survival mode; no complaining, no crying, not even depression, just pure robot mode; at the time I forget I'm human, I wear the same things over and over again, I don't even open the closet, first chair around is the closet for the week; I also forget I own jewelry, don't wear earrings, don't care about rings; then comes spring and waking up I rediscover the collection.

2. Then some much bigger things, like trying to be a better teacher. That's what I do for quite some time now and sometimes still feel like a beginner. Lately I tend to lose my self into hours of texts and videos on teaching, curriculum, classroom management, discipline, and then the next lesson seems easier and the next one is hard again. It goes up and down, but most times it's fun.

3. And more bigger things, like me... Like me getting into a dress for a friend's wedding. Like a miscalculated too early purchase of the dress and then miscalculated amount of food during Easter weekend. Like endless browsing for a new dress that can storage a lot of boob (I also feel for the people with the opposite problem, which again makes me wonder is there such a thing like a normal sized boobs or is this some kind of conspiracy...). Also endless wondering why girls on Zara site have such weirdly photoshopped legs. Just look at the section with skirts or dresses. Does someone have a fetish for disfigured legs there?

4. And some random things like walks and walks when the weather is nice. Killing some more plants (I'm down to one at the moment). Reading. Stalking some cats and taking pictures of them on Instagram. And also blog procrastinating.

And what have you been up to lately?

The One With Spring

Dear Australia, I really like you and I can't wait to meet you. Sorry for the Spring though, it's our turn now, we deserved it, seriously. Your winters are never really that mean anyway so be patient for a few months.

Dear 3 2 remaining plants still living in strategically chosen positions in my apartment, I'm sorry for constantly killing your brothers and sisters. I know I'm already on parole, but it was plantslaughter, completely unintentional, I swear! I admit killing the cactus and the succulent(s) (and have no idea how that keeps happening), but the Dracaena and the thing with purple leaves are still alive and well. I believe that the third one, the Painted Nettle, went to visit his relatives last week and never called, that case has nothing to do with me...

Dear book, I hope I'm going to start liking you, because everyone says you're great. Maybe it's the translation, maybe it's me, but we didn't have a great start. Anyway the plants gave me a second chance so I'll give one to you.

Dear 30th birthday, I'm ready for you, no drama, promise. I just ask you for a nice day so I can go to the zoo*, and also those shoes I'm waiting for, you know. Ok, maybe some wisdom, remember? The one I was so sure I get when I turn 30 - if you still have some extra I'm here. I can wait some time but I decided I can call myself a woman, not a girl, when I'm 30 and I don't want to embarrass myself early on... so, you know.
*You get free entry to Belgrade Zoo for two on your birthday. I use it every year, except last year it was freaking snowing at the end of March, but it seems that this year Australia already took care of cold seasons.

Of Kindle With Love

'Just sending you another proof we didn't make a mistake!' he was yelling from across the room or sending me a message from the office, for many weeks after our Kindle Paperwhite had arrived, accompanied by a link leading to another proof of how awesomely fantastic the Kindle Paperwhite was.

And me? I already knew it from the moment I'd read my first book on it. And it's not fair to say we didn't make a mistake, now, because he didn't make a mistake (You didn't!!!). I, on the other hand, wasn't that sure about the whole thing - it's too much money, but I wanna buy books, how can a gadget replace a real book! I was mostly worried about the money part, but even more about buying real books part (so much about my ways to save money).

At the beginning of December, when we were finally unpacking it I observed the thing with apprehension. Too pretty, all black, minimalistic, plastic. While he was adjusting and tampering, uploading and downloading and whatevering it, I was in the other room stroking our real books, comforting them that everything's going to be ok, and they could never ever be replaced.

And then it happened. He said 'Look at all the books we've got on it!', and I was like 'Uuuuuuuu!(wide eyes, not blinking) Roald Dahl! Can I just take a quick look at Mathilda, I've always wanted to read it!!!' And I did, and then I read it in two days. And then I read Silent Witness by Agatha Christie, and then I read A Moveable Feast and The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway. (And don't worry, I did by 3 new real books since then, so I'm fine.)

And then our Kindle came to life, it became our pet, our companion. At night we put it by the bed, we make schedules of who's taking it out (to work, to a skiing trip, short trip, long trip, park..). And if I see it left on the edge of a chair, desk, or a shelf, I turn into a monster because WHAT IF IT FELL OFF!!! My greatest fear is still falling asleep with it. Paperwhite has that back light, so I don't need a lamp, but then it's easier to fall asleep and squish it and break it. I had a few nightmares on this subject, me dropping it from the bed, rolling over and destroying it while sleeping, and every time it'd break like it was of the most delicate glass and I was left holding the pieces and crying (very dramatic and traumatic). One night I even woke up suddenly and started looking for it in panic only to realize that I'd turned it off and went to bed about two hours earlier. So, you can write that down as the only little disadvantage I discovered so far.

There was also the question of dressing it up, of course and Pinterest gave us endless options, Belgrade on the other hand, not so much. We searched and searched, and in 10 stores only 2 people knew what Kindle was and only 1 had some poor excuse for a case with an inexcusable price tag. So I had to take things in my own hands:

Oh, and one more thing! Please don't ask why we didn't just buy a tablet because that question throws me into a raging fit. It's different and while I recover from the last fit someone smarter and more composed than me explained why, and also all the other great advantages of this magical gadget. By the way he doesn't mention the disadvantage I discovered, so take that into account if you like...

;)

Coming Back

Hopefully, there will be at least one person still left here. I didn't have much to say for the last few months or I didn't think anyone cared. But the blogger identity crisis is done and over with and this little place is still not ready to retire. It's a nice feeling to write a post and hit Publish again. Thank you if you are still here and to celebrate the comeback I give you some cats.

;)

A Guide to the Flea Market

Going to the flea market gets me in the same type of excitement as going to the Book Fair. Except I can't go with a list. No, definitely no lists for the flea market, won't work. You have to let yourself get carried by the wave, you have to sniff and search, you must have the eye that sees under all the dust and among all that rust. You have to watch the people carefully, from the youngest to the oldest. Some will show you every single thing they sell, with some you can try and bargain, some other will try and cheat, from some you'll want to just run away, some will tell you stories, perhaps of a broken water heater and another flea market in a small town nearby.

And also, you'll have to get up early, earlier than on the Book Fair day. But if it's sunny outside the early walk is well worth it. You'll experience the magic hour, long shadows and golden sun and you'll definitely need the sunglasses. You might be tempted to take a few pictures and then you'll have to explain to your friend why you're late. She'll forgive you of course and take you to her place when you get tired of all the shopping. She'll make some coffee you'll empty all the bags on the floor and scream: 'I can't believe you've got that for just 1E!!!'

Postcard No.2

I know, I was scared too that the rest of the Greece posts won't even happen, you know how it's like when work gets in the way of life. But here it is another infusion of sea water just for you.

Places, People and Languages

Just like last year we spent most of the time contemplating ways to simply stay there, in Pefchokori, Greece. I suppose the same thought was in the minds of many hundred thousands of other Balkan people who were there at the same time. But we, we're different, oh yes! I found a little language school  (I'm pretty sure it's not working though) tucked away in a back street and his work depends only on the internet connection any way. What do you say, Pefchokori? We are the people for you. We got to know you from the top of the hill to the bottom of the sea. We speak English and Serbian, but your mother tongue and ours mix in the most wonderful ways on your streets. There's nothing we couldn't say to each other with a bit of hand waving and big smiles.

Another thing I realised, English is not very useful in this part of Greece. Former Yugoslav languages, on the other hand, are very much so. How do I mean that? Well, on the very first day of our vacation in this same place last year I got into a store to buy a bathing suit. 'How much is this one?', I asked in English. The lady said: ''15 Euro.'' What I didn't realise is that she said it in perfect Serbian, so I continued: 'Do you have it in other sizes?' in English. But she was stubborn, she probably heard us speaking Serbian going into the store: 'Do you need it in bigger or smaller size?' 'Bigger', I thought in Serbian, and 'Bigger' I said in Serbian finally, and blushed. She was Serbian and this thing happened many times over, so we ended up getting in stores saying 'Dobar dan', and just watched the things unravel in this or that direction.

Food

This was the only food that stayed on the table long  enough to be photographed and that for the sole purpose of making the recipients (my sister) extremely jealous. We got into that little bakery Lemoni, that we were warned was expensive, but who cares, we'd just try one thing. And although I'm usually more attracted to the desserts with a lot of fruit and cream this time I was strangely drawn to this chocolate miracle that seductively stared at me from the fridge - the Profiterole (second picture). I was hooked but I mustered enough of my brain power to spot at least three other things we had to try (and our wallets cried, but we didn't care). And we did try them all in those 10 days. Profiteroles were the best, I had three and I still suffer I didn't take one more on the last day. The second was Karamelito with caramel and chocolate and cream (second in the first picture). Tried it once and it would be the best one if it weren't for the queens Profiteroles (yes, still crying). Cherry panna cotta got the third place, it was very good and as I said I usually go for the desserts with fruit, but this time they lost to chocolate and caramel. The last one was strawberry panna cotta which was a total disappointment (first on the first picture). Although strawberry is one of my favourite fruits and I was even surprised at myself that I didn't choose it on the first day, lucky that I didn't, it was really bad and I'm still sad I didn't took the Profiterole instead.

And yes, it's not right to speak about Greece and food and not mention giros... No, I can't do it, I'm still thinking of, you know... I'll tell you what, you just go find that place in that little street of the main walk with the old plaid tablecloths, where they watch soccer on the TV from the seventies. They have the best giros not the big ones on the main street, don't trust what anyone else tells you.

Cat

You were worried I left the country where the cat is the national animal without a picture of a cat? Impossible! Well, last year I only started learning about the Greek cats, this year I had a personal teacher. So, the first very important thing we learned from this guy was that in Greece they grow cats in flower pots. And don't try to make any contact while they are sleeping like that, they'l just snore a bit louder. Second, if you have a cat meowing under your balcony in the morning don't try to give it food as your neighbours will also try and many pieces of meat and bread will start flying past you. The cat will just smell it and leave it because it's not food time, it's petting time, so come down for a session, and only after that they'll eat your food. Although on the day seven you might be tempted to throw a sausage at the said cat and say: 'Shut up and eat cat I'll come down later if your not gone sleeping in your pot!', not my proudest moment.

There will also be more Greek cats in another post until then relax from my Profiteroles and cat talk with a few more pictures.

;)

A Postcard

I know, I know, you've had it with me and all the Greece talk but allow me just this one (two) post(s) because I've been good otherwise. I'm already working on the list of books to buy on the Belgrade Book Fair in October and I've dug out a few sweaters from the wintery depths of my closet and I've almost completely stopped wearing sandals (but I'm not putting them away yet, so back off). I need just a bit more time to admit it's fall...

Creature of water

I must have been a duck in some of my previous lives because although I'm a lousy swimmer put me in the water (shallow) and my head goes in and my tail goes up immediately, a duck I tell you. As long as I have the mask and the snorkel on you'll watch my flowery bikini bottom on the surface of the sea for hours. And if I also have an underwater digital camera maybe you won't see me for the whole day but you'll have to watch about 900 photos of fish, waves, us under water, then one of an octopus hiding under a rock, and a lot of shells and sand, and a lot of other things, but under water.

On Hair and Make Up
Yes, seriously, on my vacation. What?! Well, my hair was fluffy and curly, but good fluffy, seaside fluffy. I gave up on shampoo for 10 days and only used masks when I washed my hair, the ones that were in orange and yellow packaging and with the sun on them, sounds like weird criteria for choosing any product but it worked and my hair was happy (and fluffy). And the make up... it happened just one day when my nose was particularly red because of the snorkeling mask and the sun, I had to comfort myself with a bit of eyeliner and a cat eye that evening. That's all that happened, the rest of the beauty routine was led by the philosophy titled I smell like coconut/wear SPF 40/nail polish, nail polish and another nail polish.

The Art of Dressing and Changing Often

When on summer vacation my clothes suddenly gets a few inches shorter, all of it, dresses, skirts, shorts, tops, everything. The length I don't wear in the city. I also need a big hat, sunglasses and a lot of ice cream. Two bikinis: one floral, one black, never worn as a set, always the black top and floral bottoms or black bottoms and floral top. And finally sandals and flip flops on rotation (also a new pair of handmade Greek leather sandals bought that deserve their own story, pic.3).

And it's still not the end, will be continued...

;)

Daily Review

This week moves slowly, and me, I have no other choice but to follow it slowly (with the camera in hands, naturally...)

So, I wake up and slurp the coffee.

Then I pretend to work and, since it's almost the end of the school year, I must pretend less since I'm the local  911 for bad marks.

Then I despair for the desperate weather.

And in the end of the day I thank to whatever force is responsible for my tiny hands because I can buy cute rings in children sizes.

Wisdom, Jalouse And Being Cute On The Beach

Man, this weather scares me horribly. I'm still not over the traumatic winter, so I feel like fainting and staying unconscious until the temperature gets above 20 degrees again. I didn't even stored away my thermo socks and all the clothes in my closet threatens to collapse like an avalanche. I unpacked the summer contingent of clothes, but the winter contingent is still on the hangers. So, I'm efficiently utilizing closet doors, every other doors and chairs to hang stuff. I'm about to become a split personality, but at least I can go out without freezing today. I still need a mantra for this weather and it's: Greece in 3 months, Greece in 3 months, ommmm....

But let's get warmer, we are all big girls, no whining. So, you noticed my need to read lists of things to remember, know, keep in mind, when you are something something. I'm sharing another one today, not because I think you need it, but because I know I need to periodically be reminded of some of these things or else I periodically forget and get lost. Anyway it will be the last one if you hate on it with the fiery passion.

* And if it weren't for all the lists I would totally be the chick from this video and you would totally be jalouse of me. I would wake up perfect, drink coffee perfect, walk around perfect, exchange looks with a hipster, change my clothes several times a day, and my neighbour would look at me and think: F** this, I wanna be her! Totally!

* The reality looks more like this, though, but at least it's cute.

To Androids With Love

Remember that story about me, Instagram and my not-so-smart phone? Now there's a chapter II, it's about me, Instagram and finally owning a smart phone. Just don't get me wrong, it wasn't my intention to brag, I just wanted to share a story about my journey from the abacus to the smart phone, as it is an amusing one.

10 or 11 years ago in high school we had a subject where we were supposed to learn about computers and some programming but the thing is that we weren't actually allowed to have them in one and only classroom in school that actually had computers in it until we were seniors. Those were different times in small and poor country, this was a precious school property and also only a few of us kids even had computers at home. I wasn't one of those kids and having a computer to me was pretty close to having a flying rug.

So, when we were finally so privileged to get in that famous classroom, the teacher would say: 'Turn on the computers.' I would turn to a less technologically challenged desk mate and ask her: 'Which one first, the screen or the box?' she would answer: 'It doesn't really matter!' in just a slightly frustrated tone. And then the teacher: 'Now double click on the TURBO PASCAL icon on the desktop...' My finger would soar above the mouse until the teacher asked: 'Anyone need help?' at which time my hand would fly high: 'I do!!!' This was a choreography that went on once a week for the whole of my senior year. The irony was that I actually learned some programming despite not being able to turn on a computer by myself. Several years later when I finally got my first PC I would blush to the point of self combustion at the thought of these memories.

And while I wanted a computer for as long as I can remember, I desperately hated mobile phones. I resisted having one for a long time and only got my first one after threatened with force and after my whole family and all friends had one and became very eager to be in touch with me at every single second of my life. As for me I was satisfied with using boyfriends phone in need and a friends phone to find boyfriend. This friend had a little yellow Siemens phone and figured out a way to send text messages without charge because when we interrupted sending before the little envelope fell into the mail box the message would be sent for free.

Then one birthday my sister (on the first picture) got a new phone, and my mother had a phone, and my dad had a phone, and the annoying neighbour had a phone, so there was an extra device in the household and a phoneless person to be converted and I had no choice, though I did give my best to constantly forget it at home or anywhere possible and pretended not to hear it. I was not happy with being available, I hated grammatically incorrect text messages, calls at any, literally, any time of the day because of the fact that a phone line is no longer shared by a family and you had a privilege to reach a person at any moment even if they were ahem... in the toilet. Hated it!

But when they started making camera phones I finally had a change of heart. While being available to everyone at any moment of my life wasn't on my priority list, being able to take pictures with a camera that weighs less than 2 kilos at any moment of my life, actually was. Yes, I'm that old, in this country at that time even little point and shoot cameras were not for everyone's price range.

So, when I finally got a little Sony Ericson with 3.2 mpx and Carl Zeiss lenses my love for phones and technology finally evolved. And was that a great phone with a great camera and it wasn't even new when I got it, which brings me to another point - until this day I never owned a completely new phone, you know, one that was bought for me at a store, full price or a little discount. All of my phones were previously owned*. The first one was sister's. The second one was my boyfriend's sister's. The third one was bought for an 11-year-old girl who wanted a pink phone, so her dad sold me hers and bought her a pink one. The forth one was pink** that accidentally got into a hands of a 17-year-old dude who sold it quickly as possible to avoid ruining his rep in da hood. And this last one I bought from a friend who got a new one and the price was also friendly. It's less than a year old, it's HTC, android (I don't care for apples) and I love it!

I'm addicted to Instagram, I'm look up an app for anything I think of, from Kaleidoscopes to animal sounds (don't ask), and my year in pictures will have 672 pictures instead of 365 and my favourite part was choosing a case for it (first picture, second row).

And now since I've went over every imaginable limit with this post I'll leave you alone, but there will be part II about sharing, blogging, googleing , Instagraming, trending and stuff so check in later.

;)

* Suppose it's good for the nature at least.
** I hated the pink phone, had it for 3 years and tried everything to break it or lose it but it had 9 lives and somehow I ended up feeling guilty for I felt like it loved me O.o

I had this little suit once

It was probably in 1989 or 1990 that I was trying on this little kiwi green suit with pink polka dot pattern, a blazer and shorts, in a great big department store somewhere in Sarajevo. If there was a time traveler (Doctor? Doctor Who?) present at that moment, he would say - This kid is gonna wish for a style blog in the future. I put it on and came out of the changing room, as I stood between two giant mirrors (those things get significantly smaller as you grow up, sadly), my suit multiplied by billions. For the next year or so it came out on special occasions, birthdays, school shows, special visits.

When we left the city in hurry in 1992, with two small bags of clothes for two little girls and one big girl, the suit wasn't included. And I missed it for years and years. My little green suit with pink polka dot, a yellow pig and a cupboard full of board games, I missed them all for years and years. And I thought of my suit on special occasions, birthdays, new school shows, high school graduation, university graduation, first day of work.

Because you know fashions come back, so it would come back, too, eventually. But when I think of it that blazer might be too boxy for me now and make my boobs look much bigger, which is highly unnecessary these days. And the shorts might be too short. And those colours, kiwi green and pink, not so good with red hair, except maybe on Easter, right?... Right? Yeah, it's time to let go, though it would be nice if I had at least one picture of it...

;)

Instagram!

Two years ago, when I was just a blogosphere observer, people stared posting perfect retro looking photos that looked like they had been taken by my grandpa years before. But he had not, because how he could have taken a photo of my favorite bloggers feet, I ask you. Hipstamatic was the name, for the filter, not grandpa's, I did some online research and found it. Instagram was the name of the IPhone application and I didn't have an IPhone.

Well, I wasn't giving up and I started looking for similar... thingies. And found some.
First, the Poladroid, a little Polaroid camera for your computer. You install it and it sits on your desktop, makes a real Polaroid noise and you can shake your picture when it comes out Andre 3000 style. Not many options, but it's cute and addictive.

Then came the Picnic, recently promoted into PicMonkey. And this is what I call Photoshop for sloths (not the animal, me, and whoever feels like one). I am so proficient in PicMonkey, I can do anything. Photoshoppers have got nothing on me! Sloths!

And I've also found Pixlr-o-Matic. Gets the job than if you are lazier than an average sloth. Works both on and off line and on your phone also.

But that did not satisfied my curiosity about the Instagram, I was still hurt by its elitism towards moi, pour soul sans IPhone, although I pretended I didn't really care and I had other photo application friends (sour grapes).

But the day came. Instagram got released for the Android phones, sweet little green Androids! No, I didn't install it at once. I waited a few days, I played it cool. And finally I did it (nonchalant and cool, if I may add). And I had it, and it was NOTHING SPECIAL! Over the course of two years since the beginning of Instagram I found better friends. And they don't even have the Hipstamatic anymore (at least I don't see it). The only thing the still kept me there is storing memories in a pretty package quickly, without USB cables, programs and stuff, that's all

And as for the Android phone, yeah,... I don't really have it (I'll wait for you to laugh for a while, it' ok!). But my really nice boyfriend does. So, I do have an Instagram account (and no smart phone) and if you want to you can follow me, and find somethings like this and this:

1. A Siamese graffiti that's now gone, so, storing memories, people;
2. Giant stuffed dog on a giant suitcase, spoted on the Belgrade bus station. Lucky is the child who got it!

New Post

I've been looking forward to writing this post for days. I missed you all so much! I cannot wait to see the '(1) comment awaiting moderation' notification, oh, it's gonna be so moderated with love!

This is what happen in the meantime. Days off at the end of July, with no chance of going somewhere for vacation, turned into a new, unexpected job. August turned into doing two jobs. And the last week turned into working a double shift at one job for the week, than going home and working on the second job. Now, am I forgiven?

I wasn't aware how much this blog meant to me until I was forced to leave it for a while. Meanwhile, the blog turned 1 without me. I did something, I didn't have to do, for a whole year... doesn't sound like me and it makes me so proud, and I want to do it for a long time.

Anyway, I have only 5 more work days to survive and then I'm going to GREECE! And beware! I missed blogging so much that I'm taking my net book with me and if the gods of internet have mercy ('cause maybe they live on mount Olympus, too), hopefully, there'll be some posting.

And finally, I have to share something my oh-so-nice boyfriend said to me recently 'Since now you are a professional writer (gulp!), i.e. you're paid for your writing, you must watch something.' Professional writer sounded so nice and it never occurred to me before.  And that's how a whole new dimension opened in my head, so I must share this with you:

P. S. This new job, nothing deep or revolutionary, but a step forward to 'my mountain'. I hope you don't mind I'm not sharing anything, I'll need sometime for that.

P. P. S. Yes, these are Instagram pictures, I have Instagram, and that's a whole new story that you will hear soon

P. P. P. S. I missed you, guys, sooooo much!!!

Good Sunday

So, what can save you after a sizzling hot working week? A pretty Sunday! And the scenario goes like this:

1. Two of your best friends in the world come to town for a seminar, but get bored. They want you to take them out for a coffee, ice cream and some window shopping. It's Sunday, it's 10 in the morning and this city never looks nicer and friendlier.

2. Your friend who works in a bookstore gives you his discount and you buy a book that you've been wanting to read for a while. And then you continue with the math for the rest of the day how much would it cost to buy the other one hundred of books that you liked there.

3. You go for a swim and sunbathing session with your sister to the city lake. You act like you're ten and you use your rubber ballet flats as fish fins. Luckily no pictures taken. There's also a sweet family there with a nervous chiwawa that turns into a zen master when they put him in a little blow up boat and on the water. Sadly, no pictures taken.

1, 2, 3, look around

It’s December and I’ve been thinking about this blue sky of mine and obviously it’s not right anymore. My head is full of fairy lights for the tree, I like them blue, white or rainbow, cheap ones from China. Last year they lasted until March. Then they succumbed to my constant abuse of the program button and with a puff, some smoke, light effects and the smell of burning plastic they were done with me. I still haven’t bought new ones but I put them up here on the blog. Like them?

And before the New Year arrives and presents and all other new things I wanted to show something old. From now on *Monday is the day for old things so I don’t lose or forget them. So Monday, the day for the things we have (maybe we realize we don’t need something new*).

1. These are my two favourite rings. I've had them for two years and I always have them with me. I carry them in the purse if it's not practical to wear them.
2. These two I have since fifth grade. I wanted the girl because she looked just like my sister, I wanted to have blond, straight hair like the two of them. My sister chose the boy because he reminded her of her best friend. Today they have a special place on the book shelf. And the boy lost his shoes but he is still cool.
3. These watches belonged to my mom and dad. They wanted to get rid of them and I had to save them. Dad's watch is mechanical and has to be manually wound.
*Next week this post will be on Monday. This week it was delayed due to header construction problems.

Time flies

If I tell you that I've been wearing these a lot lately

and that I've been doing this a lot

and that I've been secretly watching a Latin American telenovela from 1992 (that I used to watch with my grandma but we'd moved and hadn't have a TV for a while and the show ended in the meantime),  can you guess my age? It's either 27 or 72, just a hint...
