The Dance

You guessed, I'm not the girl for a traditional wedding, puffy white dress and all that jazz. This means that even after 14 years of the relationship and about a 1000 years of living together, the two of us are still strange exotic animals, sticking out in the crowd: "So, are you married yet?" (and I won't even start on the babies question).

But you know some people just make the white wedding cool. Look at Solange's wedding dance with her son. I wish I were this cool, I even tried practicing the steps, but as I was in a Serbian folk dance group for 8 years, my moves are less hip hop and more like this :D

Weekend

Another weekend so are you resting properly? I hope you are aware that it's almost the end of the strawberry season in this part of the globe and that you are using the most of these last few moments we have with them.

So, if you are in a proper weekend mode, you have something to sip and/or snack on, or whatever weekend modus operandi you prefer, let me show you around the World Wide Web:

*  This is similar to living with a cat except you get a lot less support and much more open criticism (or simple ignore if you are lucky).
*  Do you follow Severus Snape on Instagramu? No!? Scandal!!!
An interesting blog for some reading and eating inspiration.

Time to Dance

Three minutes of perfection. I was watching entranced and then I rewatched again and again to see what each of them was doing in the background and to listen to the music. If only I were this cool as kid, actually if only I were this cool ever [le sigh!]

Wes Anderson And Some Bacon

In real life diet and exercise for me, in dream life this:

This guy is so incredibly awesome that I won't even mention his name here out of fear that his reputation might get ruined after being seen in a place with so many photos of kittens and flowers and an occasional outfit post. If you have spare 20 minutes to die laughing watch this video and see how healthy competition works in rock'n'roll.

We're finally watching The Grand Budapest  Hotel this week and it's a chance to test this theory. Let's see if Anderson's characters have really lost the freedom of movement...

Marcel Makes Me Smile Today

* Last night the Skype conversation with my sister started with her saying: 'M. sent me the most beautiful little video I've seen in my life and I'll think it's the most wonderful thing forever. I'm sending you the link and I want you to watch it right now because I want to see your reaction.' And she sent me the link, and saw my reaction, and we laughed, and then I watched the video two more times last night. And you know what? I wish I could see your reaction watching this video, especially the last lines in part two. Yes, you must watch part two.

* More wonderful things for today, see how books are printed, from piles of paper to boxes ready for delivery to bookstores.

* And guess who wants to live here? 50 beautiful photos of cats living in a cat heaven on a small Japanese island.

Mickey and Times Square

Not that much time this week for treasure hunting on the world wide web but I still managed to find a few thing worth checking out.

* Like the cute new Mickey Mouse created by the makers of Dexter and DeeDee and Sponge Bob with whom you must be familiar if you are 20 or 30 something and you regularly watch cartoon channels on TV.

* And a blog written by a lady that does it all from the Vogue to the flea market. For example taking Liu Wen to the world biggest flea market, then dressing her up in vintage and taking some great pictures. Or taking outfit pictures on Times Square with Elmo, even though as a New Yorker you are bound to hate Times Square. And the rest see for yourself, there's a lot of material, for looking and reading.

On The Other Side Of The World And Everywhere Else

* Speaking of Istanbul and travel this is actually my preferred destination:

So dreaming and looking at a few city guides, just to be prepared...

* And you know how Paris gets boring after about thousand pictures of the Eiffel Tower and two thousand pictures of Louvre even though you might have never even visited it? I never did and I start rolling my eyes seeing the poor unsuspecting Eiffel Tower and think I don't even want to see you any more. Well, Petra went there a few times and she's got another angle to show us and make us want wish for Paris again. And also find some great posts on her blog both with great words and wordless.
It's Sunday, why are you still reading this, go out

Wisdom, Jalouse And Being Cute On The Beach

Man, this weather scares me horribly. I'm still not over the traumatic winter, so I feel like fainting and staying unconscious until the temperature gets above 20 degrees again. I didn't even stored away my thermo socks and all the clothes in my closet threatens to collapse like an avalanche. I unpacked the summer contingent of clothes, but the winter contingent is still on the hangers. So, I'm efficiently utilizing closet doors, every other doors and chairs to hang stuff. I'm about to become a split personality, but at least I can go out without freezing today. I still need a mantra for this weather and it's: Greece in 3 months, Greece in 3 months, ommmm....

But let's get warmer, we are all big girls, no whining. So, you noticed my need to read lists of things to remember, know, keep in mind, when you are something something. I'm sharing another one today, not because I think you need it, but because I know I need to periodically be reminded of some of these things or else I periodically forget and get lost. Anyway it will be the last one if you hate on it with the fiery passion.

* And if it weren't for all the lists I would totally be the chick from this video and you would totally be jalouse of me. I would wake up perfect, drink coffee perfect, walk around perfect, exchange looks with a hipster, change my clothes several times a day, and my neighbour would look at me and think: F** this, I wanna be her! Totally!

* The reality looks more like this, though, but at least it's cute.

Usual Sunday Frolicking

* I turned 29 recently and this text really struck a cord with me. Yes, I've got a few ideas and you'll probably never here how busy I am again. And I may also forward the text to a few people that might not be in the age group, but could use facing a few of its points.

* Another one of those blogs where you must go through the whole archives for reading and pictures equally. Although sorry, it's in Serbian only.

One more thing! About the pictures guess who else likes going to the flea market and randomly buying his daughters some questionable, but extremely comfortable footwear. You've guessed, my dad! My sister and I  are stilling picking up our jaws from the ground, but I do wear the shoes and you can see them and decide what you think. And you know, business as usual compensating the furry pleasure, we can't have at home, on the streets

Self Defence

* Are you surprised that it starts with rain? Does anyone else feel that the world is coming to an end but instead of big bang we are quietly going to fade away without a ray of sun...?

* Occasionally I stumble upon a blog that I cannot leave until I read through the whole archive. It happened twice recently: so, Wiksten made me want to knit, knit and knit some more, then swoon for some spring clothes, then pine after some beautiful jewellery; then I found SillyWorld and I wanted to go to Novi Sad wear clothes and shoes not made of rubber and take some pictures.

* I love watching and reading interviews, # voyeur_at_heart. I love walking around and peeking at peoples windows especially if there's a beautiful light fixture, wall colour or music involved. I love interviews to see if I can see a real person behind the answers and I always have a few more questions I would add.

Colours, Words and Some Love

*
Holi from Variable on Vimeo.

* I wish for colour these days, so it's only natural that I'd be mesmerized by a pink lake, the real existing place. M e s m r i z e d!

* It's his birthday on Tuesday, so in that name I celebrate with a glass (or a few) of wine and The Top 10 Relationship Words That Aren't Translatable Into English
and I like Cafuné the best, do you need some of these?

Saturday a Rainy Day

Saturday, my favourite day, for rain and buying shoes which are not for rain and taking pictures of a heart shaped oil stain (ironiy of life?)

And what else?

* Promotional videos for the new H&M collection. I liked this one, cloudy like today:

you might like this one or this one.

Something pretty for the hair since I cut mine and it's all about pretty shiny for the hair..
And finally - like?...

A Perfect Voice

* So many talented ladies in one place. So much style. So much inspiration.

* Everything you wanted or didn't want to know about most famous designer houses in the world. A little bit of history and a little bit of scandal.

* If you are planning a trip to Rome soon (lucky girl) or you are dreaming of a trip to Rome (lucky dreamer) you should read this guide by Claire Oldman from Lola is Beauty.

I hope that you are having one great summer. That you are eating enough ice cream and water melon. That you are spending enough time in your bathing suit, even if it's on your balcony or back yard. And that you are remembering to forget, at least for a little while, about work (school, exams and such boring stuff).

Some links and a butterfly

These are the five things without which I would not survive today: an electric fan, the TV remote, coffee, a book and closed blinds on all the windows

On a different note, this butterfly was a great model, very cooperative. Probably because it was the day after it finally rained. Although my tiny orange Nikon wasn't up to the task and out of 18 shots only a few can be used.

Anyway, I wish you a happy July and great plans for this month. In the meantime, let me entertain you.

* It's easy to dream of Holland when it's hundred degrees outside here. At least there you can wear your silver pants and ride your bike where ever you like. (Milica was also thinking of Holland these days.)

* 50 books? Yes, please. I can already tick off about twenty from the list. And I recommend To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee as a starting point.

* And in the end something beautiful.

;)

Saturday

* I admit I have never thought about the history of the Keep Calm posters. But recently I stumbled upon the video below. Now I keep an imaginary Keep Calm poster on an imaginary wall in may head and I imaginary stare at it when necessary.

* Big Le Sigh! If a had just a few days on this cruise I wouldn't need a day off for the following three years.

* Reading Keith Haring's journal!

Weekend Fun

After the cruelty that is a work week (and I do not use the word cruel easily) the bed is my sanctuary. I live and work in a big city and this week I felt as if I were lost in the North Pole.
Ok, fine, I was the one doing the rain dance to get the snow, and now I'm all cranky about it. But I wanted a snow ball fight and sleighing and ice skating. But it's already dark before I get home from work and similar excuses in reality I hate freezing to death...
Anyway, now I can spend the two lovely S days in bed and share my web finds.

* For example the making of this dress. And you know what? Not that I wouldn't like trying the dress on, but most of all I'd like to stick a pin in it. I would like to be one of these ladies running around it, seeing it in the making from the very beginning. I bet it's the most beautiful view from their angle.
* And wouldn't this be just the perfect hair with it? Or without it. It's weekend anyway, PJs are Couture...

And I love reading horoscopes for the year (daily horoscope is not fun at all, on the other hand). Especially ones like this, in the Russh Magazine, because they say my sign should have all this stuff in the picture (they don't really say that). According to my horoscope this is going to be a great year for the Aries, so I say let's trust them and make it happen. What is your sign? Do you like how they see it?

;)
